From the Office of the Commissioner Jimmy “Big Time” Harris;

It’s my pleasure to announce after a conversation with Herb Simmons of the SICW that the MMWA along with the SICW will have the co-honor of induction the 2015 honorees into the St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame. Tony Casta and Herb Simmons will be at the MMWA July 11th to induct Mr. Ken Patera and the son of Joe Tangero will be present to accept for him. Due to scheduling issues Bill Apter will accept his induction at a later date to be annouced by Herb as will be the same time that the late Ed Smith Family will accept for him. I will be present at the SICW to help and applaud the other two recipients for a well deserve honor. So folks don’t miss out on these two shows and come out and support two professional wrestling groups with history of old school and wrestling at the chase heritage.

Missouri Rankings Update: Jake Dirden & Ricky Cruz Grab Top Spots

Posted by Ben Simon on April 24, 2015

MO Rankings

By Ben Simon

The new Official Missouri Rankings list, good through June, has been calculated and published.  Head over to the MO Rankings page for the eighth (and latest) publication.  To qualify for the Top 10, a wrestler must have the highest ratings with consistent activity (RD ≤ 200).  Rankings are published every two months.

For details on how the rankings work, read the Introduction

MOVEMENTS & EXPLANATIONS

#1Jake Dirden is back on the list after being removed two months ago for singles inactivity.  In March, he made former tag partner Jackal pass out in the Asiatic Spike hold.  However, in April, Dirden verbally quit in his corner against Jackal.  The loss dramatically hurt Dirdey’s high four-digit rating, but his number is still high enough to return the big man to the top spot.  Despite Jackal’s big upset, the small-in-stature, big-in-heart competitor has not competed enough to break into the list.

#2Ricky Cruz and #6Mike Outlaw have switched spots.  In March, the two met in a Dynamo Pro ring.  The match was halted when Brandon Espinosa attacked Cruz.  Despite the fact that Espy didn’t interfere on behalf of Outlaw, Outlaw was disqualified.  It is the policy of this system to accept a referee’s ruling as final.  Thus, Outlaw crashes down four and Cruz rises four.

#3Moondog Rover fell from the top spot.  He pinned Evan Gelistico and J’Mal Swagg recently, but these matches were far from main event prominence.  Moondog seems content on his defenses of the MMWA TV Title, and why shouldn’t he be?  No opponent can seem to solve the Moondog Rover equation.

#5Gary Jackson fell two spots.  Jackson didn’t have a decisive singles match in March or April.

Ace Steel, Mike Sydal, and Steve Fender exit the Top 10 for different reasons.  Steel hasn’t wrestled since November, while Sydal and Fender lost some matches recently.  These omissions have enabled #8The Iceman to advance two spots.

#9Everett Connors and #10Sean Orleans debut in the Top 10.  The two are in a hot feud in MMWA Wrestling over the Junior Heavyweight Title, which Orleans currently holds.  Connors and Orleans are set to meet for the belt at the Saint Louis Cinco de Mayo event on Cherokee Street.  Even though Orleans holds a title victory over Connors, Connors’s recent reign overshadowed that loss.
