The Phoenix Twins were among the leaders of the tag team scene at the start of MWR’s infancy. Going to war with the NSE and capturing the AAPW Tag team titles were highlights of the area during the start of MWR.
There is no doubt that The Phoenix Twins had the talent to have been a MWR Tag Team of the Year. MWR fans would have loved to have seen The Phoenix Twins vs. The Hooligans and most certainly the Twins would have been great for Metro Pro Wrestling taking on the Heroes for Hire.
If this list was just on talent alone they would be in the top 10 easily but unfortunately after losing the AAPW Tag Titles, they never truly came back to the MWR coverage area.
3XWrestling’s Skylar Pierce is the special guest on Shotgun Wrestling Radio this week. Topics include the historic 6th year anniversary of 3XWrestling this coming Friday Night, Mark Sterling’s health, working on Independent video, CM Punk, Mike Sydal at ROH,  and much more.
The tag team the Bayou Outlaws is the only tag team to capture the MECW tag Team Championship twice while becoming quite possible the most popular tag team in MECW history.
The Bayou Outlaws would go to war with Huge in Japan (Kwong and Jimmy Rockwell), and BRO-MANCE– (Jordan McEntyre & Knight Wagner) over the titles.
With the power of the big man McDowell and the drive of Masterson they are a team that is hard to beat.

We just got word this weekend that legendary referee Dave Hebner was having surgery today in his hometown of Virginia.
Recently Dave Hebner was seen at MMWA-SICW meeting fans while signing autographs and taking photos this past June.

We would like to wish our friend Dave a speedy recovery so that we can see him at the matches in the near future.
During the start of MWR, we looked around at promotions and wrestlers to find out who the very best in the Midwest.
One team that stood out was the team of Eric Ruffington and Blake Steel otherwise known as Feature Presentation.
Feature Presentation had been among the top of the central Illinois tag team scene at one point along with the Hybrids, the Phoenix Twins and Zero Gravity including some great matches at New Breed Wrestling. They finished a strong 8th in Josh Rays MWR’s 2008 Wrestling Revival Cup for Tag Teams.
In 2009 they challenged for the PWE Tag team titles during the show titled Damnacrocy but came up short against Zero Gravity.
The duo looked to come back at NMW recently to challenge Attitude Inc for the tag titles but struggled to see eye to eye, then unfortunately ,Ruffingtons health derailed the return to the glory.. Blake Steel continues to be one of the top stars in the area including a run with the PWE US title, currently there are the rumors spreading that he may make his way to the STL in the near future .
