Missouri Rankings Update: Rahim’s rise is “smooth as Suede”

Posted by Ben Simon on March 5, 2021

MO Rankings

SEE THE RANKINGS

The new Official Missouri Rankings list, good through April, has been calculated and published.  Head over to the MO Rankings page for the latest publication.  To qualify for the Top 10, a wrestler must have the highest ratings with consistent activity (RD ≤ 175).  Rankings are published every two months.

For details on how the rankings work, read the Introduction

MOVEMENTS & EXPLANATIONS

The same four WLW wrestlers as last period have maintained a rating and measure of activity to warrant being ranked on our list. There was just one change of position.

#3Rahim De La Suede wrestled on the WrestleMax STL debut card on February 20, picking up a win over the returning Edvin Kudic. The victory moves Rahim one space closer to the top.

World League Wrestling Heavyweight Champion #1Moses and #2Derek Stone maintain. #4Kyle Roberts is passed by Rahim.

This was an abbreviated period, with only two events held.

Looking forward: It has been a tough year for Missouri professional wrestling. The schedule has been anemic for months. However, a total of 11 events are now scheduled in the Show-Me State in April and May. The pandemic is over in March (at least if you ask wrestling companies).

The rankings system will not freeze during the COVID-19 event cancellations. While our abilities to hold events are limited, time is not limited. Time is a decay factor into the wrestlers’ rating numbers. In the past year, we have seen wrestlers drop from this list through no fault of their own.

When events return regularly, the wrestlers’ ratings will be able to change rapidly based on a win or loss, much like when this system was in its infancy.
