The National Wrasslin League is Set to Crown its First Tag Team Champions

The National Wrasslin League is set to crown its first tag team champions. The finals of a four
team tournament are slated for September 30 when the NWL returns to the Scottish Rites
Temple in Kansas City, Missouri.

After the NWL formed a year ago and ran its first cards in January, a tournament was held to
crown the NWL Kansas City and NWL St. Louis Champions. On April 1, Dakota Draper
defeated Blaine Meeks in the finals of a tournament to win the NWL Kansas City Title while
Todd Letterman won the St. Louis Championship. Draper is still the reigning NWL KC
Champion while Letterman lost the NWL St. Louis Title to Maverick.

A semi final round match in the tag team tournament was held in Kansas City on September 2,
featuring Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett, collectively known as Besties in the World; defeating
The Howletts; Leonel and Marco Howlett. On September 15, the second semi final match will be
held when NWL KC returns to Overland Park, Kansas with Foundation members, Ace Steel and
Michael Strider taking on the team of Anthony “Sharkbait” Gutierrez and Jack Foster. “It’s
simple,” explained Ace Steel. “We are destined to be draped in Gold. Ya see…everyone wants to
be like us because THEY are just like everybody else.”

The finals of the tournament will feature the team of Besties in the World against the winner of
The Foundation and Gutierrez/Foster when the NWL returns to the Scottish Rite Temple on
September 30. No doubt waiting for the wings for the winners is the team of Royal Blood, Jet &
Jax Royal. The brothers, who hail from Lee’s Summit, Missouri (a suburb of Kansas City) are
fan favorites and would no doubt be in the tournament if not for an injury to Jax Royal. Jax
Royal broke his patella in a match on June 10 and is expected to return to the ring in the coming
months. “All we have to say is the NWL tag team division answers to us, and whoever has the
titles when Jax comes back is the team we will be gunning for,” warned Jet Royal.
