The MWR Injury Report – Makaze, Jax Royal, Mark Sterling & Greg Anthony

Posted by flairwhoooooo on June 21, 2017

The summer is heating up and the action is even hotter. With more promotions running than ever before the amount of matches have increased a ton. Unfortunately, that means that injuries happen at the worst of times. This year we already saw one half of the multi time MWR Tag team of the Year the Hooligans go down in a freak accident as they were tearing it up in Florida.

So though we do not claim to know all the injuries in the area that have our favorites down and out as well as those we like to boo let’s take a look at some of the most recent stars that the injury bug has bitten.

Makaze – He is a Gateway Championship Wrestling legend and arguably the most influential masked wrestler in the MWR coverage area. His talents go well beyond the inside of the squared circle as he has been a big part of helping out the training of many of the stars that you see today. A veteran of the ring for over 19 years, in 2017 Makaze has been as active as ever.  Makaze was a favorite to win the Dynamo Pro Wrestling’s The Riot on the River tournament on July 7th in Grafton, Illinois. Yet on June 17th at SNPW against String Bean, Makaze suffered a broken collarbone and is expected to be out for two months.

Mark Sterling /Max Edwards – Sterling is a former MWR Wrestler of the Year and one of the most active wrestlers in the Midwest for the past ten years. Match of the Year awards, Iron Man matches and wars against legends and superstars would take its toll on anyone. Sterling (also wrestling as NWL KC’s Max Edwards) Word had been leaked that he was working injured as of late as it has showed in his performances against the likes of Jack Foster and Dak Draper. After challenging for the WLW Championship against Leland Race, Sterling sent word to the wrestling world that he has a herniated disc in his neck, and will be out indefinitely.

Jax Royal – Jax and his brother Jet are two of the most popular young wrestlers in the Midwest today. We had believed that their feud with the Howlett’s and Blood Brothers could very well set the standard in the MWR coverage area for tag team wrestling. Recently a bad fall during a high risk move that would take out his knee. Jax went into surgery and is expected to be back in 4-6 months.

Greg Anthony – MWR got a ton of fan hits early on thanks Greg Anthony’s the Golden Circle articles. Most recently Greg Anthony has been a force in the NWA and even made his way to the area for High Risk Wrestling and NWA Central States Wrestling. We were shocked to hear that the Anthony announced that he would need open heart surgery right away. The amount of prayers and best wishes from the wrestling community for Anthony showed what is right in the world of wrestling.

Many wrestlers fight through injuries all the time as the action is fierce and dangerous. Our best wishes goes out to all of these men and to those that are continue to battle through the pain to wrestle. Have fun and steal the show but always be safe.
