Press Release from Allinance-Wrestling.com.

For the past 5 plus years Missouri Wrestling Revival has shared it’s enthusiasm of pro wrestling within the Midwest covering many of the top promotions. “With Metro Pro Wrestling and NWA Dynamo Pro promoting out of Kansas City and the greater Missouri area it only seemed fitting that we would partner with MWR who consistently covers that area better than anyone in the country,Jay Cal of Allinance-Wrestling.com.

As many of you might have already noticed that Brian Kelley, the owner and editor of MWR has began sharing MWR Posts with Alliance-Wrestling.com. But over the past weekend it became official that the Missouri Wrestling Revival and Alliance-Wrestling would partner to give the most complete coverage of the National Wrestling Alliance in the Midwest. Along with sharing news and information the two sites hope to also give more exposure to the talent within the central states.

Alliance-Wrestling.com prides itself on covering the entirety of the National Wrestling Alliance, with MWR on board, we’ll be able to cover the Midwest more widely with a greater emphasis on Metro Pro Wrestling, Dynamo Pro, and all the great talent in that area,” commented Jay Cal.

We continue to appreciate our partnerships with Tez of Westside Pro Wrestling, covering Western Australia and SoCalUncensored which covers Southern California Wrestling and look to forge new alliances through the independent wrestling community to provide the fans of the National Wrestling Alliance with the most extensive coverage possible.

MWR- Tag Team interview with The American Bulldogs.

Missouri Wrestling Revival was honored to sit down with the American Bulldogs, Jon West and Maddog McDowell.  Currently they are the 3XW Tag Team Champions, and have their eyes set on several tag titles in the Midwest.

More importantly than that is their popularity towards the fans. As you are able to see here in this video, the Bulldogs are genuinely good guys as much as they are talented. We have seen evidence of the fans support in Kansas City for Metro Pro Wrestling, in St Louis for NWA Dynamo, in southern Illinois for Pro Wrestling Epic and back in their homes states of Iowa for 3XWrestling and Pro Wrestling Phoenix.

The two combine on old school good guy tag team that fights for the rights while bringing to the table a mix of old and new school moves that include quick tags, great double teams and explosive moonsaults especially for the younger Jonathan West.

Always looking for competition the Bulldogs have expressed interest in making runs for the titles at both MMWA-SICW and AAPW. If so fans would have a chance to see some exciting matches with the likes of Waco and The Big Texan as well as AAPW Tag Team Champs Matt Cage and Christian Rose.

SHINE Star Santana G on Brady Hick’s IN THE ROOM tonight! 9 pm CST Plus more info on upcoming ITR events!!!

Fans have seen her in action against the very best in the world including MsChif and Sara Del Rey in the past, as well as on SPIKE TV and last friday iPPV in a big win for SHINE. From Brady Hicks.com

The next couple of weeks should be interesting here on IN THE ROOM and TBH.com … with a slew of surprisingly good guests and … in August … our next ITR SuperShow featuring the SummerSlam go-home.

If all goes according to plan, I’ll be in Los Angeles for that show.

Truth be told, it’s been a LOOOOOONG time since I’ve done any traveling for this show or Web site … too long actually. In the time since I caravanned down to Atlanta for NWA Legends Fanfest last year with some old friends, I’ve passed on opportunities to go to WrestleReunion (Los Angeles AND Toronto), WrestleMania (Miami), and The Big Event (New York). And I think it’s almost time. If you’re out on the West Coast, be on the lookout in the coming days and weeks as more information on that possible LA trip develops. California is one of my favorite places in the world. I really hope I get to go back.

Tonight – ITR w Santana Garrett

Last night I started doing research into the young and beautiful Santana Garrett. This interview is actually the result of an agreement with Brian Kelley of Missouri Wrestling Revival (who was featured on the show a few weeks ago). The details?! Tune in tonight to hear the exciting announcement I have.

Anyway, apparently I was familiar with Santana … an aspiring Diva … and didn’t even realize. Santana Garrett was the valet for Orlando Jordan during his Threesome angle in TNA 2-1/2 years ago. Remember her? I do.

And I’m stoked for tonight.

ITR Conclave Info

This year’s Fan Conclave is definitely taking shape, and it’s going to be a great time. I’ve already heard from several listeners who will be attending for some or all of the events. My old buddy DJ (ITR) will make an appearance, as will the Dean Dixon and the Hell in a Cell crew. I definitely recommend clicking on the ITR Conclave graphic on the scroller here on the right hand side of the page. It’s there you’ll find all the late-breaking news as ITR Fan Conclave ’12 takes shape.

Wrestling legend Earl Caddock is honored in Walnut, Iowa.

Mike Chapman (holding sign at left), author of the book Caddock: Walnut’s Wrestling Wonder, and Walnut Mayor Gene Larsen (far right) stand with members of the Earl Caddock family during a dedication ceremony held June 17 in Walnut, Iowa.

On June 17, the small town of Walnut, Iowa, honored former world champion Earl Caddock by naming a street after him. Earl Caddock Memorial Drive runs for several blocks in the southern part of the town, right past a brick building that Caddock owned in the 1920s and sold cars from. As an amateur, Caddock was a three-time AAU national wrestling champion and was undefeated in  53 matches. He was discovered by Frank Gotch and Farmer Burns. When the 1916 Olympics were cancelled by World War I, Caddock turned professional.

Caddock won the world heavyweight championship from Joe Stecher in Omaha on April 9, 1917,  and was champion for three years. He was known as a master catch wrestler and was called “The man of a thousand holds”.  Caddock fought in France during World War I and suffered lung damage from a gas attack. He returned to wrestle for two more years, then became a prosperous businessman. He died of cancer in 1950 at the age of 62 and is buried in Walnut, a town of 800 people.

Many old-time wrestling experts consider Caddock one of the finest wrestlers of all time. “He was an inspiration to the youth of America,” wrote Nat Fleixher, the top wrestling writer of the 1930s and ’40s. “During his entire career, he exemplified the best in American sports tradition. And when the history of wrestling is written, I shall see that Earl Caddock’s name goes up near the top for his wrestling ability, and on top as the man who has done most for the uplift of wrestling in this country.”

Earl Cadddock cover

The City of Walnut worked with author Mike Chapman to publish the book “Caddock” Walnut’s Wrestling Wonder” and nearly a dozen Caddock family members returned to Walnut on June 17 for the street dedication. Chapman gave a speech about Caddock’s legacy in the world of wrestling and across the state of Iowa. Now  there is talk of erecting a statue of Earl Caddock in Walnut, as Humboldt did recently for Frank Gotch.

Adam Pearce captures the NWA World title for the 5th time in Kansas City at Metro Pro Wrestling.

By Brian Kelley

Adam Pearce captures the NWA World title in Kansas City at Metro Pro Wrestling from Colt Cabana.

In the past the Midwest has caused “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce some pain and stress, but July, 21st will go down in his career and history as the day the NWA World title returned in his hands for the fifth time.

Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce has been to war many times in the past against each other but in 2012 the wrestling world was introduced with a best of seven called the Seven Levels of Hate. The matches would be featured in many of the top NWA promotions in the country with a different stipulation.

As the series started Cabana stood tall as the NWA Worlds Champion and momentum on his side. In the first match at NWA Championship Wrestling Holywood California from Glendale, California the battle would go toe to toe in a First Blood match. Many wrestling experts felt this was one match going in that Pearce had the advantage but Cabana showed his versatility by winning the match and putting doubt in the former 4-time NWA Worlds Champions head.

In round two, at New England Championship Wrestling in Bridgetown, Massachusetts the two men would battle in a Boston Street fight with Cabana once again getting his hand raised while taking a 2-0.

No one in the sport and most definitely Pearce himself believed that Pearce would be down 3-0 heading into Kansas City on July 21st.. Yet, that is what happened at Steel Domain Wrestling in the Hopkins Pavilion Hopkins, Minnesota as Pearce would suffer a heartbreaking loss during an “I quit “match. Pete Waggoner’s title for his article on the story said it all “Match best ever in SDW 15-year history”.

Cabana would catch Pearce in a Boston crab and with nowhere to go and no other choice Pearce said the words “I quit”. Cabana was one win away from winning the series and the chance to sweep his arch rival Pearce in Kansas City at Metro Pro Wrestling.

With his back against the wall and his career on the line, Pearce was reportedly running a temperature of a 102 degree fever in quite possibly his biggest match in 16 years in the ring. Pearce headed into the match at the Turner Rec Center knowing full well that it had been over thirty years September 17th, 2012 since the NWA title had changed hands in Kansas City when Ric Flair defeated Dusty Rhodes to win “The ten pounds of gold”.

To make the mountain an even bigger obstacle to overcome the match would have to be won by not just one falls, but a two of out of three falls. A packed crowd filled the Metro Pro home as Pearce would make history by becoming a five time NWA Worlds Champion in a great match.

The NWA title is again around the waist of Pearce, but one loss against “Boom Boom” Cabana for the champ and he will lose it all, the title and his career in just 1-2-3 seconds.

Photobucket

As the series goes into stage five with Pearce down 1-3 and the reality that Cabana has taken the title from him not once, but twice he can breath for the moment and smile as he is now a 5-time NWA Worlds Champion.
