Herrin, Ill. – Sean Chambers, Owner and Promoter of All American Pro Wrestling since its inception in October of 2006, has stated he is stepping down from his promoter position. AAPW Collision Executive Producer, Chris Hagstrom, will be taking over as event promoter.
Chambers made the announcement after the 5th Annual Benefit Show in Herrin, Ill. on October 8th. He states his personal and financial responsibilities are the reason for his decision. “Promoting wrestling events is a lot tougher than people think. It is very time consuming and there is financial risk. Lately, I have not had the time nor am I able to keep assuming the risk.” says Chambers.
In late 2010, Chambers also gave up booking responsibilities when he named “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony as booker. He feels that by having others take on some of the responsibilities, such as booking and promoting, they bring new ideas and hopefully increase attendance at events which has dropped drastically in 2011.
Chambers will retain ownership of the promotion and will assist Hagstrom in the transition. “Chris has put so much time and effort into the production of Collision, said Chambers. “He is very enthusiastic about the product. Maybe by taking a step back, Chris’ enthusiasm will be contagious and will inspire me to once again take a more active role.”
“I’m excited for this new opportunity,” said Hagstrom. “It’s been a dream of mine to be a major part of a wrestling organization and this past year I have been living out that dream. I fully believe in the talent that we have and the evolution of All American Pro Wrestling. I hope to help continue making AAPW the best promotion in the region and help in its expansion.”
The next AAPW event will take place on Sunday October 23 at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse. Bell time is scheduled for 2pm. Tickets are available at Black Diamond Harley-Davidson or online at allamericanprowrestling.com.
Editor’s note: MWR would like to wish Sean Chambers the best as he moves forward in his life. On a personal level Chambers has been a friend of MWR ever since the debut of the site. We have all the respect in the world for Sean as he has always looked to bring the fans the best wrestling action for the fans in the Midwest. AAPW has worked diligently with fundraisers around the area while delivering great matches such as Edmund McGuire vs. Shane Rich and The Mississippi Madman’s feud with “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt.
On the other side of the coin we would like to wish Chris Hagstrom the very best in his new position. If Hagstrom’s work in the past as the AAPW Collision Executive Producer is any indication of what fans should expect then there is no doubt that AAPW will continue to be one of the top wrestling promotions in the Midwest for many years to come.

Brian, I would like to wish Sean the best in the future as well as Chris. I have heard a lot about their promotion and know just what Sean is talking about. I’m not sure how long Chris has been doing his promotion but I can tell you some times one show seems like years. He is right, most people don’t have a clue what it takes to put on a promotion. When you have all the ego’s to deal with that alone makes the job even harder.
Promoters such as Tony Casta and I that have been doing this for what appears to be three days older than dirt has learned to take it show by show. You have those good ones and tnen there are the ones that you wish were a dream and you would wake up. I beleive we all do it for the love of the business. I have enjoyed myself now for well over forty years involved one way or the other in the business. The one thing I have always said was, I give credit to those that step into that ring night after night and bring enjoyment to the fans. I have never been a worker or ever claimed to be, however, I beleive Tony and I have shown that we know how to stay in tune and continue to do what we love to do.
So Sean I understand what you stated. A lot of hard work, a lot of bull to put up with, and little or no reward at the end. If you are sincerely stepping back I say good for you, if not just take a break and take a deep breath, I assure you nothing will change, the headaches will still be there, the ego’s will still be there, the great fans will be there, and there will still be little or no reward. Good luck to both you and Chris.
