The fans have spoken.
The main event for AAPW Fan Fest will be Edmund “Livewire” McGuire defending his All American Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship against the Mississippi Madman.
The last time these two faced each other for the title was on Jan. 16, 2010, at the Fan’s Choice show in Nashville. McGuire came into that match fresh off of winning his first championship from Shawn Shultz the previous month.
Livewire promised to be a fighting champion, as he defended the title against his friend, who actually came in second in the voting. McGuire originally won the fans’ vote for number one contender, but after winning the title, the AAPW front office awarded the title opportunity to the runner up, the Mississippi Madman.
The special guest referee that evening was McGuire’s best friend and AAPW fan favorite “Serial Thriller” Shane Rich. At the end of the night, McGuire lost the championship when his best friend Rich turned his back on McGuire and the fans. He viscously attacked the champ and dropped him with a TKO while Madman was knocked out on the floor.
Will history repeat itself? Rumors have been circulating that another special guest referee has been appointed to officiate this contest. Who could it be? Could the Madman become a two-time AAPW Champion or will McGuire be able to overcome the odds and retain the championship?
Also official is the AAPW Tag Team Championship match. Curly and Heath Hatton have been fighting champions and will face their toughest test yet, as they defend the titles against The Convoy.
The Convoy have not been seen in AAPW since the beginning of the year. Will the duo from the open road pull off the upset, or will the champions continue their reign of dominance in the tag team division?
Other matches made official earlier this week via fan voting are a loser-gets-pied match pitting “Golden Boy” Greg Anthony against “Dynamite” Seth Knight and a Body Slam Challenge featuring Carnage and the ultimate underdog Jay Spade.
And in the most comical contest of the afternoon, AAPW commentators Kevin Hunsperger and Chris Hagstrom will compete in a dance-off. The fans will decide the winner in what is sure to be an unforgettable moment in AAPW history.
Fans will also have the chance to be a guest ring announcer or timekeeper, as well as to get their picture taken in the ring, collect autographs from their favorite AAPW stars and win a variety of prizes.
Tickets are available now at allamericanprowrestling.com and at the door. Prices are a fan-friendly $5 for adults and $3 for kids.
