Dave Vaughn gets a crack at the Classic Wrestling Championship belonging to Ricky Cruz on the SICW card Saturday, March 9 at the East Carondelet Community Center. Fired up for this main event is Vaughn’s manager, Travis Cook. Action begins at 8 p.m.
The program is also the first taping of the new season for SICW Wrestling Explosion on Charter Cable. The show airs Sundays at noon on Charter cable channels 8 and 89.
Also on March 9, the new book by Larry Matysik -The 50 Greatest Pro Wrestlers of All Time, The Definitive Shoot – will be on sale and Larry will be on hand to autograph it.

Add to lineup – Flash Flanagan gets his toughest test to date in SICW when he squares off with Kevin X. And in a foul mood after his double disqualification against Cruz in Fairmont City left him with a bloody noggin, Ron Powers will be on hand March 9.
Plus Ironman Ken Kasa, whose manager Travis Cook says is the true Classic champion, takes on Shorty Biggs. Chris Hargas will be in Shorty’s corner and Hargas is in a foul mood after an attack by Kasa ended with the shoulder breaker has slowed Hargas’ recovery from an auto accident.
All things considered – with Alexander Rudolph, Heath Hatton, Chaz Wesson, Jake Dirden and Gary Jackson also booked – March 9 should be a red-hot evening in East Carondelet.

In his second title shot ever, Big Dave Osborne defeated “Gorgeous” Gary Jackson on February 16th to win the MMWA Heavyweight Championship.
The end came at the ten-minute mark when Osborne countered the Texas cloverleaf and rolled up Jackson. After a 100% clean, fair-and-square pinfall victory, Dave Osborne is the champ in the most historic promotion in the region.
Osborne was sharply focused on the big match with Jackson, which was his redemption of the King of Cable Cup he won in September. There was no yelling before or during the match by Big Dave. It was just a wrestling match where the better man prevailed.
Gary Jackson went into the match with a leg injury sustained the week prior. Gary limped but he insisted that his injury played no part in the outcome of the match. His loss ended a nine-month title reign.
Osborne recently held the Battle Royal Championship, which is how he got his moniker: Mr. Over-the-Top. He lost that title due to misinformation; he didn’t think it was on the line when it was.
Osborne debuted on January 15th, 2011 with a loss to Webmaster Stevie K. Since then, he has cut a drastic amount of weight and improved his maneuvers through a strict training regimen. Now, we have a dangerous man on our hands.
The South Broadway titles also got a new name after the card ended. The MMWA Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight Championships will be known as such; the “MO/IL” state affiliation has been dropped.
Welcome to OWW Radio! Each week hosts David and Alex will provide perspective to the WWE, TNA, and everything else making news in the world of professional wrestling. A new episode will be posted each week. This week David is joined by Larry Matysik, the author of the new book, “The 50 Greatest Professional Wrestlers of All Time: The Definitive Shoot”. During the interview we discuss the history of professional wrestling, how the business has changed, and how he was able to come up with his top 50. And, yes, John Cena is on his list!
Michael Elgin is one of pro wrestling’ most feared wrestlers in the world today. The MECW Champion Eric Allen got the message loud and clear after his epic match against the Ring of Honor star. Allen would get the win with a jack knife roll up, but the war was won by Elgin when he delivered 3 powerbombs onto the MECW Championship belt.
The effects have been felt since as Allen has been in the hospital ever since.
MWR visited Allen in the hospital this past weekend and he had this to say to his fans.
“Been silent for awhile. After my the match with Michael Elgin I was attacked and powerbombed multiple times . I’ve been in severe pain since then and have actually thought about leaving wrestling for good due to the amount of pain I’m in. My anger unfortunately will not allow me to walk away. I will have revenge for what he did to me. Allen vs Elgin 2 will happen!!!”
Are you looking for great matches? How about dream matches for your fans?
Then promoters do not hesitate to bring in two of the finest wrestlers in the country today, Trevor Murdock and “Miss Natural” Heather Patera.
Murdock is a former 3-time WWE Tag Team Champion and most recently challenged for the Pro Wrestling NOAH Championship in Japan. A multi-talented superstar Murdock, has also been featured for TNA and was trained by the one and only Harley Race.
Heather Patera is the daughter of Olympian and wrestling great Ken Patera. Nicknamed “Miss Natural” from her dad for being so gifted in every sport that she took part in, she went on to continue her training with Race to become a 5-time WLW Ladies Champion with his company.
After a short hiatus from the sport, Patera returned to pro wrestling to become one of the top stars in the country the past year a half. In that short time since she has returned, Natural has electrified SHIMMER, captured a huge victory from the former Women’s NWA world Champion MsChif, and has been featured in top promotions such as Metro Pro Wrestling, Traditional Championship Wrestling, 3XWrestling, Steel Domain Wrestling, World League Wrestling and Resistance Pro.
Natural possesses a rare combination of beauty and wrestling skills that has had fans clamoring for more. In 2012 awards committee voted unanimously for her to be named the Missouri Wrestling Revival Female wrestler of the Year.
With the return of Murdock in action, we would love to see both of these Harley Race former students get a crack at the NWA Worlds title currently held by Kahagas or be able to see Heather Patera meet the NWA Women’s Champion Kacee Carlisle.
Once again if you are a promotion looking for great talents and excellent matches for your fans be sure to contact Heather Patera for the dates that this dangerous duo have open for 2013.
