CARBONDALE, Ill. – All American Pro Wrestling and the American Cancer Society will team up this Saturday October 8, 2011 for their 5th Annual Benefit Show at Herrin Middle School.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and bell time is scheduled for 7 p.m. and all proceeds will benefit the ACS.

Since AAPW’s inception, fundraising and awareness have been a cornerstone of the company. At their first show on October 7, 2006, AAPW raised over $5,500 for the Milani Charitable Trust to help pay the medical bills for then 2-year-old Abby Milani who suffered sever injuries in a fire.

“Our first show wasn’t just about starting a wrestling promotion,” said AAPW Owner and Promoter Sean Chambers, “It was about helping a family in Herrin that had fallen on difficult times. Friends, family, and complete strangers came out to help the Milani family and we realized we had something special and could do more than just put on a wrestling show.”

AAPW and ACS teamed up in 2007 and there has been at least one show dedicated to raising money and awareness for the ACS.

“This has become a yearly event that I and many of the boys in the locker room look forward too,” said AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund “Livewire” McGuire. “It’s a night where anything and everything can happen and the best part it all goes to a great cause that will benefit people in our region.”

Tickets for the event are available online at allamericanprowrestling.com and will be available at the door. Ticket prices on the day of the event are $10 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. There will also be a 50/50 raffle as well as a raffle for Saluki Football tickets donated by Saluki Athletics.

AAPW is a locally owned and operated professional wrestling company that is in its fifth year of operation. Recently AAPW launched a new television show “AAPW Collision” on WSIL TV-3. Local talent includes the AAPW Tag Team Champions Curly and Heath Hatton, Jay Spade, Mike Masters, Playboy Paul Rose, and the AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund “Livewire” McGuire.

With Loving memory of Paul Steven Kelley (1954-2011)

Truthfully my father was not really a fan of wrestling, he never watched it if I wasn’t there though he would call me on the phone if he saw a wrestler he knew on a show that they normally wasn’t on. A few times he would ride with to shows to provide me company for the normally 6 hour round trip. This picture here is one that I really enjoyed as dad rode with me and my nephew Marc to Lincoln Illinois for the PWE Balloon Festival show. After the show was over, I got some promos from some of the guys. Before we left I had a few wrestlers pose with the two of them. This one here is of a friend of mine the Mississippi Madman who was really great to dad as he had always been to every fan I ever saw him with. When we got out to the car, dad had an autograph MWR card of the Future Donovan Ruddick and I laughed and asked why he bought one when I have some I could of just had given him one if he wanted in the car that he didn’t have to buy it . He just smiled and said he knew but he wanted to support what I was doing with the wrestlers. For 37 years dad was there for me, my sister, mom, family and friends. We love you dad!

Last Wednesday night, I went to check on my father Paul Steven Kelley at his home. When I entered his home I was shocked and sadden to see that at the young age of 57 that he had passed away.

My sister Dominique and I were blessed to not only have an awesome father but a great grandfather and a true friend.

Words cannot express what dad meant in our world so I won’t even try.

Thankfully, we have such a great group of family and friends in our time of sorrow. Dad would have been proud of the support that they have helped comfort us. We had many friends that we hoped would be there and they didn’t disappoint, we also had many that we didn’t know cared as much for Dad and us and I hope that they know how much that truly meant to us.

God Bless each and everyone of you.

I always joked that wrestling was the first love of my life when in actuality there is nothing more important that family.

I cried for 5 days that my father will never get to see the little things in my life like the fun I had in the video of myself representing ECW Press on ST Louis TV for Larry Matysik’s book and the after math that ensued or that he didn’t get to see the big moments to come when my son Josh will have his first child.

Yet, I am thankful for the 37 years that he was a part of our lives.

Dad was a fun loving, good hearted guy who would give you his last dollar. He may of not been perfect but he was perfect for us.

For my friends in the world of wrestling if I have not taken your phone call, respond to your e-mail or work on a post for your upcoming show, I know that you understand that the pain in my heart has been very heavy. With over 1,700 post over 4 years here at MWR supporting many others that I care, this one is for my family.

I hope to have some desire to be  back  at MWR by the end of the week .

Till then take care of yourself, your family and love one another.

PWP OCTOBER 22, 2011 WRESTLEVANIA

Posted by flairwhoooooo on September 30, 2011

Photobucket

PWP fans, the wait is over! Pro Wrestling Phoenix returns to the Council Bluffs National Guard Armory on OCTOBER 22, 2011!

We are back, and we’re coming back with a bang, with our first ever WRESTLEVANIA event! Let’s get down to business and find out what’s in store!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship:
Matty Star defends against “Babyface” Tony Cortez

Matty Star won the PWP Heavyweight Championship last May at our 6th Anniversary Spectacular when he defeated Preston Maxwell in a brutal 2 Out of 3 Falls Match. Now, he faces his first title defense, and he will take on the ICON of PWP, “Babyface” Tony Cortez. Cortez has logged more time as PWP Heavyweight Champion than anyone else in history and will not take the opportunity to become a 3 time champion lightly. This will be one for the ages!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Tag Team Championship:
“The Passion” Zac James & “Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece defend against “The Beautiful Bodies” Brian Gott & Derek Cornell

Last May, PWP had its first ever Flag Match scheduled, and it was to be “The Bodies” Vs “The Canadians”. However, Brian Gott broke his arm and was not able to compete. Angelus Layne took his spot in the match and although they made a valiant effort, they did not win the titles. Gott is fully rehabilitated, and the Bodies have asked for one last shot at the titles. Greece accepted the challenge on behalf of the tag champs, stating they have beat them over and over and they will do it one more time! If the Bodies win, they forever etch their name into the PWP history books! If not, they will have to start at the bottom in PWP and re-think their strategies. Be there to see what happens!

Vic Victory confronts Branden Juarez

Vic Victory returned to professional wrestling last May, after an 18 month absence to defeat Branden Juarez. After the match, Juarez nailed Victory with one of the most vicious chair shots in PWP history. Victory hasn’t forgotten this and plans on calling Juarez out in the middle of the ring on October 22nd!

Also appearing:
* Former PWP Heavyweight Champion Preston Maxwell
* ”Sensational” Sean Cruz
* Darren “Thunder” Russell
* Shawn Nautilus
* ”Unbreakable” Zach Thompson
* Joey Daniels
* ”Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell
* Buck Albright
* And More!
