It was with great pleasure that at New Midwest Wrestling we introduced the MWR Magic Man trading card. We have been longtime friends with the charismatic Magic Man, yet I am sure that this was the first time that these young NMW fans got to meet him as he joined MWR’s Dubray Tallman at the merchandise table. Just as many fans my age tells tales about the characters of wrestling’s past, I am sure that these fans will talk about the time that they met the MAGIC MAN.
Missouri Wrestling Revival will be at the exciting Metro Pro Wrestling TV Taping this weekend in Kansas City at the Turner Rec Center. Come see us to get your hands on the BRAND NEW MWR Trading card of the legendary MAGIC MAN.

You need to listen to RingSyders this weekend on PartyAnimalRadio.com. Ben Simon, Mikey G and Drew Abs host this super scary edition tonight from 5-7 CST.
The boys count down our Top 5 Scariest Incidents, Bumps & Bruises in honor of Halloween. We’ll look at the nastiest arm-breakings in MMA, the biggest tumbles off the turnbuckle in wrestling, and the slams just gone plain wrong!
“Killer” Keith Smith will be our drinking buddy for the day in the studio. He will be our first Gateway Championship Wrestling guest in to talk about the big reunion card on December 1st.
Plus, Hell in a Cell IV is tonight! We’ll discuss the card, including the Punk vs. Ryback clash. Also, the Boxing 120: Garcia TKFO Morales. It’s time to hang ‘em up, kid.
Can’t listen live 5-7 on Sundays? We are now uploading recorded episodes at PartyAnimalRadio.
In the wake of “Zero Hour,” the backstage area became deathly quiet. No one in the locker room knew what to say of the events that transpired during the main event. People were asking questions about the future of the company.
With Executive Producer Chris Hagstrom not at the venue, Marketing Director Adam Testa tried to get answers from owner Sean Chambers. Chambers would not address the situation. Chambers told Testa he didn’t have to answer to anyone else. These events were caught on camera and will be released soon.
Following the event, Testa contacted Hagstrom about the events of “Zero Hour” and how the company would handle situation. Hagstrom in turn submitted this statement for publication on this website.
“Since last year, I have done everything in my power to give the fans of All American Pro Wrestling what they’ve wanted to see. I’ve arranged for international superstars like PAC, El Generico, Matt Cross and Colt Cabana to come to Southern Illinois and provide entertainment for the fans.
It hasn’t always been easy, but I knew it wouldn’t be. Then the night of Sept. 22 came along. While in the ring for the contract signing for the Heavyweight Championship match at “Zero Hour,” Mike Masters pulled me into harm’s way, injuring me and taking me away from the company I love so much.
I wanted nothing more than to see Masters get what was coming to him at “Zero Hour,” but given everything that had happened, I couldn’t bring myself to be at the show. I feel as if I had a great night robbed from me. I’m thrilled that Edmund has regained the title and that this company once again has a champion we can be proud of.
But it was the events of that title match that have brought other questions to the forefront. When Adam told me of Sean’s involvement in the match, I wish I could say I was surprised. Sean did what he felt was best for Edmund’s safety at “Summer Chaos,” and, while skeptical, I bought into his reasoning.
Now, this, I have no explanation for. Sean isn’t responding to my messages. He won’t address the situation. All I’ve heard from him has been a text message saying “Fan Fest is canceled.” My heart hit the ground. Last year, I started Fan Fest as a way of saying thank you to the fans for their support through the year. It was the one night where we could all cut back and have fun.
Now we won’t have that opportunity. I personally apologize to all the fans; I know many of you have been vocal in the last 24 hours about your disappointment with the cancellation, but this situation is beyond my control. I promise to do everything in my power to make this up to you, the fans who helped us turn AAPW into a national player on the independent wrestling scene.
Season Three will be the biggest year for AAPW yet, and it will all begin on Saturday, Jan. 19, at SIU Student Center in Carbondale. We have a new venue, which we think will enable us to share the great wrestling you’re all used to with a new audience of SIU students. We appreciate everything Black Diamond Harley-Davidson has done for us through the past 18 months, but this change will only help us grow.
I offer my sincerest apologies for the cancellation of Fan Fest and I will continue to do everything in my power to find out what led to this unfortunate decision. I hope you will continue to support AAPW as we will be releasing new and unreleased content through the next two months.
Thank you again for all your support. I hope to see you in January.”
Hello wrestling fans, wrestlers and promoters. I am looking for some advice as I hope to improve the MWR Awards by giving respect to the hard working men and women in the world of pro wrestling.
Personally I am a huge fan of the St Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame. In the past I have been honored to be able to represent the SWHOF by presenting wrestling manager Bobby Hennan, Dory Funk Jr and Ric Flair with their plaques at the TNA Fan interaction along with my friend Nick Ridenour.
The Midwest should be very proud to have the HOF represented at the historic South Broadway Athletic Club as the HOF features many of the best of any era. Men like Harley Race, Sam Muchnick and Lou Thesz.
There has been some discussions on why there won’t be any wrestlers from this era (After the Wrestling at the Chase) inducted into the SWHOF in the future. I have heard many sides of this debate but the truth of the matter is that it should be the wishes of the people involved with the SWHOF to decide on who they induct.
I dont blame them if the Hall of Fame wont just let anyone in, how prestigious would that honor truly be?
Still the business has changed and most defiantly the landscape for opportunity in the world of pro wrestling that after the glory days of Wrestling at the Chase. The sad fact is that there have been talented wrestlers and men that just didn’t get the shot they deserved. At the same time others have done their best to keep the sport we love alive by working year in and year out going beyond the normal effort. These men and women deserve to be honored for their hard work.
We have much love and respect for both the ST Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame and Waterloo Iowa’s Dan Gable – Museum and those two HOF are among the elite in the world.
So that leads me to the reason of this very post.
I have been contemplating doing a Hall of Fame for MWR that is a compliment of the SWHOF (for the record MWR is not by any means involved or associated with the St Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame) that would honor the men and women of pro wrestling after the Wrestling at the Chase era.
So I ask you
1) What are your thoughts on such a project.
2) What should the qualifications to be inducted for each category (as they would be different include
A) Wrestler
B) Promoter
C) Manager
D) Referee
3) Should the men that were active during the Chase days be included if they were not inducted into the HOF.
Just to let you know that I am looking to is to induct 3 each year starting either in 2012 MWR Awards with a higher possibility being the 2013 Awards. The reason is because I want to be able to do proper.
The first ideal to go each year and (let’s pretend that we did start in 2012) inducting the recipients that were active or started from 1983-1988 (2012) then the following year go to 1983 to 1993 then 1983- 2003 (2015) and so on.
Just to let you know we will still be presenting the MWR Lifetime Achievement award and if someone should happen to already have won the Lifetime Award (which is our highest of honors) and will not be inducted into the HOF as that award will be a part of of the official HOF.
As of this date these men that have been presented this awards are Harley Race, Larry Matysik, Mike Chapman andBob Geigel
That is not to say that an individual that has been inducted into the MWR HOF cannot be presented with the award in the future.
My first thought about the HOF will be for talent, hard work and even being recognized as among the best in their respected years of wrestling.
Now the ball is in your court, contact me at flairwhoooooo@yahoo.com for any advice, comments or yes even complaints to make this a great ideal. If we decide to move forward then we may ask for submissions for this award
