TJ Perkins has wrestled around the world with many of the top promotions including Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Dragon Gate USA, Evolve and in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Known for his speed and excellent technical skills, he has had a couple of matches for both WWE and TNA, but there is no doubt that the best is yet to come  for a young man with his pure talent.

TJ Perkins high flying moves has brought the fans to their feet with moves such as the 520° corkscrew springboard tornado DDT and 450° splash.

Right here in the Midwest fans have been thrilled to see Perkins in action recently at Metro Pro Wrestling where he challenged Jeremy Wyatt for the MPW title as well as St. Louis Anarchy. His match for the ACW Anarchy Championship held by ACH at St. Louis Anarchy’s “Gateway to Danarchy”, on 2/25/2012 garnered a mention of the top matches of 2012 from the website wallsofjerichoholic.

It is with great excitement that we are to announce that the number two trading card in the MWR Series two is none other than TJ Perkins.

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Year of the Phoenix VIII recap 3/29/2013

Posted by flairwhoooooo on April 6, 2013

PWP LOGO

The night began with Derek Cornell coming out and surrendering Brian Gott’s PWP Title, and the duo’s PWP Tag Team Titles – but said he would continue the legacy of the Beautiful Bodies by winning the PWP Heavyweight Title himself!

*** SM King defeated Hype Gotti to advance to the PWP Title 4 way. Excellent back and forth match here, but in the end, The Omaha Chainsaw prevailed over the iconic Gotti.

Cheap & Dirty (Preston Maxwell, Branden Juarez, Shawn Nautilus, Zac James, & Joey Anderson) came out to address the crowd, first introducing “The Joe-Dozer” Joey Anderson as the newest member of the group. Preston Maxwell accused the injured Sean Cruz of ducking him, and stated that later in the evening, he would defeat his old rival Matty Star, and that one member of Cheap & Dirty was absolutely certain to walk out with the PWP Heavyweight Championship! This led straight into:

*** Derek Cornell defeated Shawn Nautilus w/ “Joe-Dozer” Joey Anderson to advance to the PWP Title 4 way. Despite the odds being heavily stacked against him, Cornell was able to overcome the much larger Nautilus, and move one step closer to the PWP Title.

*** Branden Juarez defeated Abu Colossus to advance to the PWP Title 4 way. This was a very hard fought contest between two super heavyweights! Juarez picked up the win over the former champion, and secured Cheap & Dirty’s a chance at the title later on.

*** Matty Star defeated Preston Maxwell to advance to the PWP Title 4 way. A classic PWP rivalry renewed here, as these two former champions clashed! Late in the match, a frustrated Maxwell went to use a chair, only to be stopped by Sean Cruz. With Preston distracted, this allowed Matty to score the 1-2-3. Afterwards, Cruz said he has unfinished business with Maxwell, and made a challenge for a match at PWP’s 8th Anniversary Spectacular, but not just any match…….an I QUIT match! Maxwell not only agreed, but upped the stakes even higher, saying if he couldn’t make Cruz quit, he’d quit himself….altogether, and dared Cruz to do the same, to which Cruz agreed. In other words – Sean Cruz vs. Preston Maxwell in an I QUIT match, and the loser is gone for good!!!

*** Joey Daniels w/ Axel Greece defeated Merlin Dean Banks. The newcomer Banks put up a valiant and impressive effort, but in the end, fell to the more experienced Daniels, as Axel Greece looked on, pleased at his man’s success.

*** Leslie Ray defeated “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson. Leslie Ray has been undefeated since returning to PWP last spring, and his victory roll continued here, as he bested one half of The Heroes for Hire in an impressive match.

*** Darren “Thunder” Russell defeated “The Passion” Zac James. Early in the match, James tried to walk out, and went to the back, only to be forcefully brought back out by Chris Havius. James laid out Havius and Russell at our last event, and Havius wasn’t about to let James escape from Russell getting his revenge. In the end, Russell hit a huge double arm impaler DDT, and came put victorious, much to the crowd’s delight.

*** Matty Star defeated SM King, Derek Cornell, & Branden Juarez to win the vacant Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship. This was an elimination 4 way match, that started hot and heavy, with all 4 men brawling all over the building! SM King was the first to be eliminated, followed by Juarez. This brought the action down to Matty vs. Cornell, two of the most popular men in all of PWP. The crowd was on edge as they watched these two warriors fight hard, tooth and nail, for the most coveted prize in PWP. In the end, it was Matty Star who came out on top, becoming a record setting 3 time PWP Heavyweight Champion! As Cornell made it to his feet, the two shook hands in a wonderful display of sportsmanship, followed by Matty celebrating his win amongst the PWP fans!

We now look forward to PWP’s 8th Anniversary Spectacular, on Friday May 24th!

News and details will coming in the near future, but here is what we know already:

*** Preston Maxwell will battle his nemesis Sean Cruz in an I QUIT match, where everything will be on the line, not just their pride, but their careers!

*** We will also begin the process to crown NEW Pro Wrestling Phoenix Tag Team Champions!

Be there at the Council Bluffs Eagles Club on 5/24 as PWP celebrates turning 8 years old!!

SHIMMER – WOMEN ATHLETES is proud announce the addition ofMELANIE CRUISEandMISS NATURALto the SHIMMER 54-57 tapings on April 13th & 14th at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL.

Veteran competitor Miss Natural returned to the SHIMMER roster during late 2012, following an initial stint in 2008. Shortly after those first SHIMMER appearances, Natural took a hiatus from the sport, but has since returned to a full schedule, regularly competing in rings throughout the central United States. With the benefit of learning under both Ken Patera and Harley Race, Natural is a no nonsense athlete with all the tools to get the job done in the ring. She proved as much during our last set of tapings, scoring three victories against opponents much newer to the game than she, utilizing her Natural Disaster (bridging fisherman’s neckbreaker) to put them down for the three count. Next weekend in Berwyn, Natural looks to continue that momentum.

Melanie Cruise

Melanie Cruise is one of the few Chicago natives on the SHIMMER roster, and has been a part of our events in Berwyn since very early in her professional wrestling career. Over the years, Melanie has certainly grown as an athlete before the eyes of the SHIMMER fans. She had the valuable experience of receiving instruction from “The Croatian Panther” Wesna Busic for a brief period of time, as Wesna helped Melanie fine tune her game, to make best use of the size advantage which she enjoys against virtually all of her opponents. Cruise later went on to team with Mena Libra as an intimidating tag team force, before returning to the singles ranks once again at our last set of tapings. One of Cruise’s most impressive outings thus far was her SHIMMER 50 match against Hiroyo Matsumoto. It was that match which opened a lot of people’s eyes around the world to the even further heights which Melanie Cruise could take her career during the years to come.

SHIMMER Women Athletes returns to the Berwyn Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL on Saturday & Sunday, April 13th & 14th, 2013. Volumes 54-57 of the SHIMMER series will be filmed during the course of that weekend.
