Herb Simmons announces that Bobby Heenan pushed back till June 21st , Cornette this Saturday!!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 16, 2014

SICW

News Flash from SICW. just got home and had call from Cindy Heenan, wife of Bobby Heenan. As you all have been following our post, Bobby suffered a fall several days ago and has been recovering at home. Cindy states Bobby is doing better however is still in pain. Our hope was to be able to obtain a straight flight, but do to the short notice that has become impossible. Therefore, We have reached a conclusion that with Bobby still having some pain issue and no direct flight that his visit to SICW will be postpone until June 21st our next SICW show. This will allow more time for him to further heal and us to arrange a better direct flight. As you know Bobby has been through a lot over the past few years with his battle with cancer. I don’t, and won’t put him through any unnecessary pain or stress for a show.

His wife further stated that I relay to our fans that Bobby is so looking forward to coming to SICW and he ask that we have the understanding that he apologies and will see everyone on June 21st. In over 30 plus years of promoting shows I have had only one no show, that was a guy name Buddy Landell, this situation isn’t a no show, this is a misfortune that no one could predict. I ask that you understand and I personally apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for your plans. If you were coming to just see Bobby then make sure you come June 21th.

If you have your tickets already they will be honored on June 21st. However don’t forget we still have a great show this Saturday with Jim Cornette, Larry Matysik, Jackie McCoy, Mad Maynard, Big Daddy Travis Cook and all the other SICW stars. Once again Bobby Heenan will not be with us this Saturday but his visit to SICW has been rescheduled until Saturday June 21st. Thank you for your support and understanding.

PWP – live Pro Wrestling this Sat. in Council Bluffs, IA – TLC Match

Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 16, 2014

Fans, Pro Wrestling Phoenix exists for many reasons. The brotherhood of the boys, passion of those behind the scenes, but most importantly, our loyal and amazing fans who keep coming back month in and month out! We’ve had our ups and downs, hiatus’ and breaks, and still, you fans have been there for the entire ride. We humbly and eternally thank you, and fans, PWP is PROUD to present to you, the 9th Anniversary Spectacular!

Main Event

Tables Ladders & Chairs Match for the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship:

Branden Juarez © Vs. Matty Star

These two men have been going at it off and on for years, and it all comes to head on May 17th! Matty Star has captured the hearts and minds of the PWP fans, and if he wins, this would make him the first EVER 4 time Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Champion. Branden Juarez has shown the people and any challengers that he is a force to be reckoned with, and he is not to be taken lightly. He has claimed he will do ANYTHING to keep the title, and the first ever TLC match in PWP history is the perfect setting! This is going to be a wild one, do NOT miss out, BE THERE!

No Time Limit Match for the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Tag Team Championship:

Hype Gotti & Abu Colossus Vs. Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling

Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling returned to PWP with a simple message. “We are the best wrestlers in the Midwest!”. Their match against PWP Tag Team Champions Hype Gotti & Abu Colossus on April 12th certainly didn’t hurt their case, as it will go down as one of the classics in the history of PWP. However, the time limit expired and no winners were declared. With what seems to be a new found respect, all four men shook hands and agreed to a NO TIME LIMIT rematch on May 17th! Fans, get your concessions before this one starts, because it could go until all four competitor’s tanks are empty! No matter if the undefeated champions retain, or the outsiders take the titles, we will have undisputed Tag Team Champions by the end of the night!

The Greece Pit Gauntlet:

Darren “Thunder” Russell Vs. “The Greece Pit” Joey Daniels, L-Ray, & “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece

When Darren Russell signed on for a match with the experienced Leslie Ray in January, he had no idea it would lead to this! Leslie Ray, or L-Ray as he is now called, joined up with Joey Daniels & Axel Greece to form “The Greece Pit”, and they have been a thorn in Russell’s side ever since! They’ve been cheating, and doing whatever they have to do to avoid a loss, but Russell has decided that enough is enough. On May 17th he wrestles Joey Daniels. If he defeats Joey, he fights L-Ray. If he can somehow defeat two men in a row, he will finally get his hands on Axel Greece! If that happens, Greece is in for a BAD night! But, if at any point in the match he loses, Russell will be forced to join The Greece Pit and do WHATEVER Axel Greece tells him to do. The stakes are HUGE in this one; can Russell beat the numbers game that he’s lost to repeatedly? Or will we have a new member of the Greece Pit? Be there and find out!

Fatal 4-Way Match to become #1 Contender to the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship:

“Simply Ravishing” Ryan Slade vs. “The Omaha Chainsaw” Stephen King Vs. “Showtime” Bradley Charles Vs. Derek Cornell

PWP has always taken pride in giving opportunities to the young up and coming wrestlers in the Midwest wrestling scene. This match is overflowing with talent, and is sure to tear the house down on May 17th! Two of these men, Ryan Slade & SBC, have both held the PWP Heavyweight Championship in the past, and have had their share of run-ins with each other this year. The other two, King & Cornell, have not held that title before, yet obviously aspire to. Additionally, these two are developing a bit of a heated rivalry. No matter who walks away with the title in the TLC Match main event, the winner of this match will face them on June 21st with the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship on the line!

“The Passion” defends his… legacy?

After winning his match in April, “The Passion” Zac James told the crowd that he has never been pinned at a PWP Anniversary Spectacular. We checked the record books, and… he is right. Whether it was winning an Anytime Anywhere Contract Ladder Match, or retaining the PWP Tag Team Titles, he has never been pinned at a Pro Wrestling Phoenix Anniversary Spectacular. He said he will continue this trend until the end of time, surpassing any other winning streak in wrestling history! Be there May 17th to see who will challenge Zac James, and see if he can win once again!

The Geek Era Rolls On

Geek Singh joined Pro Wrestling Phoenix in February. Three straight events led to three straight wins for Singh, as he has become a force in PWP. If Geek continues to win, he will be at the top of the rankings extremely fast. Will he make it 4-0 on May 17th? Or will someone end “The Geek Era”?

All this and more!! Be there as we celebrate 9 awesome years of Pro Wrestling Phoenix!!!!
