NXT Tag Team Champions The Lucha Dragons vs. The Vaudevillains Tonight on the WWE NETWORK
Simon Gotch is one of the most unique NXT Superstars to come along in quite some time. Gotch refers to himself as the “Gentleman Bruiser” of NXT and draws inspiration from the late 19th-century combat style known as baritsu.
Often found performing classic feats of strength while simultaneously keeping opponents off-balance with his grandiose claims (Gotch says he is undefeated in matches versus bears), the eccentric “Steam-Powered Madman” is determined to bring his “quite manly” style of grappling to the forefront of NXT. He has a helping hand in doing so from Aiden English. Gotch and “The Artiste” have teamed up, and the duo known as The Vaudevillains has found great success in NXT so far, winning a No. 1 Contenders’ Battle Royal to earn an opportunity to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles, which they’ll receive when they face The Lucha Dragons at TakeOver: R Evolution. Gotch & English have tried to get inside the champions’ heads in recent weeks by assaulting a pair of little people in lucha libre masks, as well as with a short film mocking Kalisto & Sin Cara.
Trained by WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race, Gotch is ready to prove that his quirky and peculiar style is not a facade, and that the competition in NXT had best take note of this remarkably dangerous and unpredictable throwback Superstar.
