Central States Wrestling Star Brad Batten Passes Away

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 19, 2014

Via Wrestling Observer and Figure Four On-Line

Brad Batten of the Batten Twins tag team, with brother Bart, who wrestled in the 80s and 90s in a number of territories, passed away today reportedly of a heart attackat the age of 56.

The two wrestled in a number of territories, as well as did enhancement work for Jim Crockett Promotions and later World Championship Wrestling on TBS.

They had their most success in Texas, the Central States and Puerto Rico after being trained by Angelo, Lanny and Randy Poffo (Savage).

Editors Note: I grew up on Kansas City’s All-Star Wrestling that featured Central States Action. One of those teams that I knew quite well was the Batten Twins. Though I never got to meet them, they were fan favorites during my youth each and every Saturday night at Midnight. Here is a great match between them and one of, if not my favorite tag teams The Midnight Express… Enjoy and RIP Brad

I remember watching the Battens on Central States. Those were good times. Lots of great memories. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fans.
