RIP Jack Zaler “Father Jack”

Jack Zaler, known to wrestling fans in KC as “Father Jack,” took his own life Saturday night in Colorado. Jack was on the very first Metro Pro show in July 2010, and we became friends. Despite was he did to himself and what others may say about him, he was a sweetheart of a guy, and only harmful to himself. He would call me up and just want to talk about life, wrestling, etc. I guess now I understand that he was just lonely. He lost his Mom last year to cancer, and that may have been the biggest blow that led him to what happened. He had a lot of friends who loved him dearly — like Derek Stone and Josh Sipple. I’m just thinking of his family and friends today.

My daughter was a fan and we have many mutual friends so this hit home a little. Our thoughts and prayers to Jacks family and MANY friends. He was a large presence here in Colorado and will be missed.

I am SHOCKED by this news. I did not know Jack real well, and had not seen him in about 3 years, but when I knew him, he was a sweetheart of a guy, always very optimistic ~ straight forward. I am so sorry, and feel for his friends and family
