The MPW Commissioner has stated that the three members of the Commission will wrestle in singles matches on June 1. Their opponents will be Davey Vega, Mat Fitchett and a wrestler to be determined. If the Commission wins at least two matches, the Commission will get to name the stipulation on a MPW Tag Title Match against Kobra Kai in July. If Kobra Kai wins a majority, they determine the stipulation. http://www.metrowrestling.com/store/

Kyle Valle’s top 10 wrestling speaking engagement/ seminar wish list.
Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 26, 2013
Kyle Skynet Valle
I was asked by Mr. Kelley to come up w a top 10 list of living wrestlers I’d like to see in STL.
I based my list on who I would want, if putting on a wrestling speaking engagement/ seminar. How each based on their era’s, region, and who they wrestled for and who they competed against. What all we could learn about the business they flourished in. IN NO WAY IS THIS MY TOP TEN LIST OF FAVORITE WRESTLERS.
10. Wendi Richter – wasn’t the first women’s champ, but was the first “face of Women’s wrestling” promoted heavily. She was so popular, and a hit with the audience she had music icon Cyndi Lauper backing her at Mania and was a featured character on the WWF 80’s cartoon.
9. Mil Mascaras – a world renowned wrestler from Mexico that is mybe the greatest luchador in history. He’s God like in Mexico.
8. Jushin Liger– innovator of moves that are used in every match now that most don’t even think about.
7. Bruno Sanmartino– before my time, but what a legend this Guy carries with him. Just look at his title reigns. Spectacular, and could never be duplicated again, ever.
6. Dusty Rhodes– the “son of a plumber” didn’t have the body of a God. But he used his God given ability to entertain all that paid to see him, and hear him!
5. Kevin Von Erich– imagine being a Von Erich in Texas during their reign. He and his brothers owned that state.
4. Jerry Lawler – where do I begin? Started out as a fan when a child. Fast forward years later, he’s not only “the king” of Memphis, but on national TV feuding with a Hollywood star.
3. The Undertaker – once this Guy paid his dues in Texas, and early WCW, he has not looked back. Was given a “Frankenstein” ice cold character that had no personality and turned it into one of the greatest “gimmicks” ever in wrestling.
2. Ric Flair – This Guy is a walking movie reel. He was who he said he was. He walked the walk and could back it up. He ruled the NWA once he was handed the reigns.
1. Hulk Hogan – simply because, he’s Hulk. No one did for the wrestling industry as a whole as he did. He was this larger than life comic book hero to every kid in the 80’s. He was the real life Superman. He has a lot of hater, but just as many fans and followers still to this day. No matter what is said about The Hulkster, he was the posterboy of what wrestling is, was, and should be. The legend of Hulk has been tarnished by tabloids etc of the times, but nothing can change what Hulk Hogan does when the red light is on.

Today Tag Team Champions match Brandon Espinosa and Ace Hawkins vs Alex Castle and Reed Bentley
Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 25, 2013
NEW MATCH: Much to the chagrin of Pro Wrestling Collision management, Alex Castle and Reed Bentley have earned a Tag Team Championship match at May 25’s “Survival Mode.” They will face Ace Hawkins and Brandon Espinosa with the titles on the line.
Castle and Bentley won this opportunity by pinning the champs in an impromptu eight-man tag team match at the April COLLISION taping. By scoring the pinfall in that match, Castle forced management into giving him this opportunity.
Castle has been on a quest to win gold in Pro Wrestling Collision since the company began. After failing a bid for the Heavyweight Championship in the Collision Cup, he shifted his focus to the Tag Team Championship with Angelus Layne. The couple was unsuccessful in unseating Espinosa and Hawkins in their title match.
Layne disappeared after that match, encouraging Castle to find a new partner. He found Reed Bentley, who made an impressive debut in March soundly defeating Mikey McFinnegan.
Espinosa and Hawkins have proven to be fighting champions, defending against any and all comers. They’re no strangers to these two men after recent events, but will they be able to persevere once again when their most prized possession is at stake? You can never count this duo out, but they certainly have a challenge ahead.
“Survival Mode” begins at a special 6 p.m. bell time Saturday, May 25, at the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale, 250 N. Springer St. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under and SIU students.

IT’S OFFICIAL – RON POWERS GETS HIS CRACK AT CLASSIC CHAMPION RICKY CRUZ JUNE 15 IN EAST CARONDELET
Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 21, 2013
More than one year in the making, but Ron Powers finally has his rematch against Ricky Cruz for the Classic Wrestling Championship that Cruz took from Powers. Saturday, June 15 is the date for the showdown at the East Carondelet Community Center.
Adding to the moment is that the original Classic Wrestling Champion, Danny Boy Hawkins, has been named the special referee.
Powers held the title for more than a year after dethroning Danny Boy. Now Cruz has reigned for over a year after upending Powers following a series of wild, controversial battles. The two have clashed once since on short notice at Fairmont City, where both were disqualified and Cruz bloodied Powers by smacking him in the head with a chair.
Powers locked up the title shot last Saturday when he and Flash Flanagan defeated all-time legends Cowboy Bob Orton and Butch Reed when Powers nailed Orton with a diving head butt and got the pin.
The June 15 struggle leaves Flanagan fuming – he wanted the match. And Travis Cook is enraged, because he claims his star Ironman Ken Kasa is the true Classic Champion. Whoever has the title after the June 15 donnybriook will have his hands full.
Plus on June 15, wrestling historian and author Roger Deem will be in East Carondelet to sell and sign his marvelous book THE STRAP, which is a detailed history of the Missouri State Championship which got its start under legendary promoter Sam Muchnick.
