Brandon Espinosa wins the 2011 King of St. Louis Cable Tournament.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 16, 2011

In a historic night of wrestling from Lemay Missouri, MMWA presented the fans with the first ever King of ST Louis Cable tournament. The winner of the tournament would not only be named the first ever King of St Louis but also receive a title shot against MMWA Champ Gary Jackson at a later date. Jackson was in the tournament and if he would win, he would be the one to decide who he would face.

In the first round TV Champion Brandon Espinosa was able to overcome the raw power of David Osborne, Phil E. Blunt(w/ Leo) defeated Jr. Heavyweight Champion Johnny Courageous, Battle Royal Champion Dave Vaughn was dominate in a match against Max Archer(substituting for the injured Sean Vincent) with the spear while MMWA Champion Gary Jackson defeated Ace Hawkins via Texas Cloverleaf.

In the second round fans were surprised to see Phil E Blunt give Espinosa the win by staying out of the ring voluntary. Espinosa would not get off so easy as the young and popular LaMarcus Clinton came to the ringside letting Espinosa know that he was wanting a shot at the TV.

Clinton would give it his all but Espinosa has been on fire in 2011 and was able to retain his title with a frog splash.

Back in the second round it was Gary Jackson taking on Dave Vaughn in a battle of two of the best in the area.

Jackson and Vaughn looked to each have a win for themselves in many moments in the match but Jackson would be able use a crucifixed for a quick pinfall.

In the finals, Jackson would take on Espinosa to see who would have the bragging rights. Jackson nearly got Espinosa in the Cloverleaf for the win but Espy rolled him up with a handful of tights for the cheap victory and claim as the2011 King of St. Louis Cable Tournament.

With the win Brandon Espinosa is poised for a shot at Gary Jackson’s MMWA Championship at anytime of his choosing.
