It is that time of the year for the fans of MWR and wrestling local around the Midwest to come together to help support one of our own. Young Ace Hawkins has been on the road looking to become the very best that he can be in his rookie year. In the most recent PWI Magazine, they have asked for fans to send in nominations for their year in awards including Wrestler, Tag Team and rookie of the year. In the magazine Ace Hawkins is added as a candidate along with many other talented young men and women around the world.
You may be asking why Ace Hawkins deserves to be this year’s rookie of the year?
Sure he is number 55 in the MWR Trading card set but there is so much more to Ace. Let’s take a look at ten reasons why the exciting young Ace Hawkins deserves to be named the 2011 PWI rookie of the year.
1) He competed for ROH in his first 3 months as a professional Wrestler.
2) He is a member of Ohio Valley Wrestling and competed for the OVW Southern Tag Team Championships, and recently made his TV debut .
3) Fun & Exciting to watch a fan favorite who has gained a following quickly and are named Acebookers!
4) The current IHW Illinois Champion.
5) Currently the highest ranked rookie in the PWI 500 at #339.
6) Has wrestled for 22 different feds, in 6 different states!
7) Competed for multiple titles including tournaments for the NWA Midwest X-Division title, PWE Epic 8 tournament, and the MMWA Cable Cup tournament.
8) To date has had 107 matches
9) Trained By Brandon Espinosa and Dingo. Trained for a period of time with Ring of Honor World Champion Davey Richards
10) Well respected in every locker room he has been a part of.
While I will be sending in my vote for wrestler of the year for Davey Richards and tag team of the year for Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston, I will hope that you will take the time to add Ace Hawkins for the 2011 PWI Rookie of the year.
