PWP-The entire story of what happened yesterday

From PWP Management

PWP fans, you have a right to know the truth, so that’s exactly what we’re going to tell you. We arrived at the Armory at 1 PM on the day of the show, as scheduled – and paid for weeks in advance, only to find nobody there to let us in, we waited 2 ½ hours for somebody to show up , all the while trying to call any and all of the people we thought could possibly help us out. Long story short, we finally found out that apparently, most of the Council Bluffs National Guard was in Washington DC for the upcoming inauguration…..which nobody bothered to tell us in advance. Had we known this a few days ahead of time, maybe we could have scrambled to move the show to another venue, or at least give people (both fans and wrestlers) more notice of a postponement, but since we were never given that information, it became irrelevant. We want everyone to know just how hard we tried to get this show back on track, even after all this stress and nonsense was quickly ruining the day, but obviously, we were unable to do anything about it, and the situation was 100% out of our hands.

As news broke that the event would have to be cancelled, tempers started to flare, certain people began saying irrational and unprofessional things, and a terrible situation was being made even worse. For various reasons, many of which were behind the scenes of PWP, this quickly turned into the most stressful day in the nearly 4 year history of the company, with the very future of the company being left in doubt and disarray. We are however, pleased to say that after certain emotions were given a chance to cool off, professionalism was beginning to be restored. As of right now, most (not quite all, but most) of the heated situations have been resolved, and we can now look to the future, and betterment, of Pro Wrestling Phoenix.

To all the wrestlers (especially those who made long drives to be here) – we are very sorry for the situation, but hope that you understand how helpless we were in the matter.

To the fans who didn’t see the bulletins in time, and came out to the armory, only to find the notice on the door about the cancellation, we sincerely apologize, and hope that you will stick with us. As cliché as this may sound, it is very true that we would simply not exist without the support of our amazing fans. You guys are the only reason we have made it as far as we have, and will be the only reason we are able to continue from this point forward – to each and every one of you, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

So, where do we go from here? We are still hoping to possibly reschedule this event for some time in the next couple weeks, however that will more than likely not be possible – if that is indeed the case, we will simply move Year of the Phoenix IV to our next scheduled date, Saturday February 28, 2009. In any event, our next event WILL be headlined by Hype Gotti vs. Jeremy Wyatt for the PWP Heavyweight Championship in Hype’s retirement match.

As soon as we have any more to announce, it will be posted on www.ProWrestlingPhoenix.com and www.MySpace.com/ProWrestlingPhoenix

Thank you for taking the time to read all this, and rest assured, set backs and obstacles aside – Pro Wrestling Phoenix WILL recover and progress full force into 2009 and beyond. Once again, thank you.

[ MWR Editors Note: We had made the drive to Council Bluffs when we got word that the show had been cancelled. By the time we got home it was 9:00 and it was too late to give an announcement at the site. I want everyone to know that PWP has always been first class with MWR and the fans. When I spoke to them they were sincerely disappointed and upset. This was an unfortunate situation but you live, learn and improve.

We wish PWP the very best in the Future. MWR hopes to be there front and center when the PWP Champion Jeremy Wyatt takes Hype Gotti. A match that will sure to be worth the wait.
