Farmer Billy Hills retires; Missouri Championship vacated for first time in MWR era

Posted by Ben Simon on October 8, 2019

Farmer Billy Hills Missouri Champion

Missouri heavyweight champion Farmer Billy Hills, longtime friend of MWR and fan favorite, has retired from the ring.

Hills had failed to appear for the last two cards on which he was scheduled to compete. His last match was his double title win in a cage against Hollis Giroux on August 24 in Cape Girardeau.

In a video posted October 7 on Facebook, Hills described embarking on an “emotional spiritual journey” where he discovered what brings him true happiness.

“As of this video posting, I am going to officially retire from professional wrestling.”

The title is vacant as of October 7. This is the end of the first lineage of the MWR Missouri Heavyweight Championship, which includes: Ricky Cruz, Brandon Espinosa, Barackus, Ace Hawkins, Karim Brigante, Jack Gamble, Hollis Giroux, and Farmer Billy Hills.

Missouri Wrestling Revival salutes Farmer Billy Hills. May you find continued happiness and fulfillment in all you do!

A new champion will be crowned when our top two ranked wrestlers meet one-on-one and a decisive victory is earned.

Title History & Regulations

The situation this period

Ricky Cruz and Derek Stone are the top two ranked Missouri wrestlers until at least the end of October. A match pitting either Cruz or Stone against Adrian Surge, Jackson Crowley, or Jon Webb would also be considered by the panel for possible sanctioning.
